Position Summary
The Project and Process Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing engineering projects related to process improvement, cost reduction, and quality enhancement. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and process optimization techniques.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management:
Manages and monitors Mill Chemical programs.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables are met.
Monitor project progress and identify potential risks and mitigation strategies.
Provide regular project updates to stakeholders.
Process Engineering:
Analyze existing processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
Conduct process simulations and modeling to evaluate potential changes.
Develop and implement process control strategies.
Design and Development:
Design and develop new equipment, systems, or processes.
Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
Diagnose and troubleshoot process issues and equipment failures.
Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of problems.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Pulp/Paper, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
3-5 years of experience in process engineering or project management.
Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and process optimization techniques.
Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MATLAB).
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in engineering or a related field.
Experience with process automation and control systems.
Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP).
Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
Work Conditions
May be exposed to general manufacturing hazards in the plant environment.
On-site safety gear required as defined by the plant environment and all safety rules and regulations.
Ability to lift 50 pounds is required.
Bending, lifting, and climbing are required.
