oUR MISSION

OUR MESSAGE TO YOU

Our mills are fully invested in manufacturing a product comprised of 100% recycled materials while creating long term jobs. Capitalizing on the durability and strength of the natural cellulose fibers used in paper making, we are able to manipulate and reuse these fibers from recycled materials into a new product. Our process allows for the continuation of manufacturing while minimizing the environmental impact.

Established in 1989, Maryland Paper Company acted as the spark for Mathew Chakola’s rapid expansion into the paper industry. With a clear vision and endless dedication, he was able to grow his small East Coast paper mill into three major manufacturing mills nationwide. Today, Chakola employs hundreds of devoted employees and produces over 150,000 tons of paper annually. To create some perspective, that’s enough paper to circle the globe 17 times per year.

Mathew Chakola has dedicated his life to the conservation of the Earth and its beauty, and the team at Maryland Paper will always strive to “leave the Earth better than we found it".
